Penguins fall to the Islanders 9-3

Ironically, during last night’s game, WWE Smackdown was on and I couldn’t tell the difference between the two.  That game was a shell of a real NHL game and should have been stopped or the benches warned, especially the Islanders bench, to stop starting fights with the Penguins.

If you are winning with over 5 goals, why do you feel the need to start a scrum with the opposing team. Take your win, finish the game and move on. Obviously, the Islanders couldn’t do that and by the end of the game, they recorded 183 penalty minutes, with a total of 346 for both teams.

During the game Eric Tangradi was injured to his head, he has been having concussion-like symptoms. I hope Eric is okay and doesn’t have a concussion, but I will post updates about him on the fansite as they are released.

The Pens face the Rangers on Sunday at Madison Square Garden, the game will be broadcasted on the NHLnetwork at 3 PM Eastern.

Star of the Game
Games of this nature are a test of the character and commitment of a player to his teammates. The Penguins passed with flying colors, as they stuck up for their teammates throughout the entire game.

Whether it was Deryk Engelland helping out Maxime TalbotEric Godard defending Brent Johnson or the entire squad coming to the defense of Eric Tangradi, the players all banded together.

The game didn’t have the result the Penguins had hoped for, but the players’ bond to each other was the shining point of this contest.
