Pens beat the Panthers 2-1 in shoot out!

The Penguins overcame a third-period deficit for their eighth straight win on the back of a 2-1 shootout victory against the Florida Panthers at CONSOL Energy Center Friday night.

The Pens are now 8-16-2 when trailing after two periods. They’re tied for the most wins in the NHL when trailing after two periods (Tampa Bay).

“The first couple periods, again we gave them one too many opportunities,” Jordan Staal said. “We have the talent in this room and the determination to find a way to win games in third and come back and we did that tonight.”

The Pens also overcame a two-goal deficit Wednesday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
