Kris Letang Injury Update – Lower Body, week-to-week, placed on IR

Not that update I was hoping to post for you all. Kris has a lower body injury following that entanglement during the Red Wings game a few days ago.

From myself and all the fans, we hope for a good recovery for Kris and we can’t wait to see him back on the ice for the Pens :)!

Letang was hurt when he got tangled with Red Wings forward Thomas Vanek in the corner and left the ice in noticeable pain, grabbing his left knee.

The injury occurred at 3:21 of the first period. Letang took one more shift, at 12:30 of the first and lasting all of 17 seconds, before calling it a night.

“He felt as though he could go, and he was testing it,” Penguins coach Mike Sullivan said. “Obviously he didn’t feel well enough or strong enough to play. That’s when we decided to take him out.”

Losing Letang again forced the Penguins to shuffle their defense pairings, although Sullivan kept his top two together at Monday’s morning skate before tonight’s game against the Capitals at PPG Paints Arena. Post Gazette

The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Jake Guentzel and defenseman Chad Ruhwedel from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.

Defenseman Kris Letang has been placed on injured reserve.  Penguins
