Penguins can’t hold the Wild, lose 4-2

Kris Letang had a good game, getting 1 point for the assist on the first period Sidney Crosby goal. This is Kris’ 6th assist of the season. Still despite efforts by the Penguins, it wasn’t enough and the Wild outscored them by 2 goals taking the win.

* Marc-Andre Fleury played a confident, aggressive game tonight. The best example of that came in the second period with his team on a power play. The Wild cleared the puck behind Kris Letang, the last man back, and it looked to be a footrace – though not with him. Fleury actually raced all the way up to the blue line and beat the Wild player to the puck, pushing it out of his own end and to safety. The Pens went back the other way and scored. It was a risky play, but one that paid off.

Despite leads and success at home, Penguins fall to Minnesota

Letang was visibly upset on the ice that play was allowed to continue after he was tripped, but declined to say much about it after the game.

“I’m not out there to make any calls,” Letang said.

Sullivan adopted a similar stance.

“The refs are going to call the game the way they see it,” he said. “We’re going to worry about playing hockey out there.”
