Kris Letang Injury Update – No timetable on return,

All the major news sites point to the same: No timetable for Kris’ return and no details on the injury, apart from the earlier releases of it being upper-body.

I hope it’s nothing serious as we anxiously await for more updates in his return to the lineup.

Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Kris Letang has no timetable for a return from an upper-body injury that has kept him out of the lineup since Feb. 21, coach Mike Sullivan said Saturday.

“It’s more complicated,” Sullivan told the Penguins website after practice. “I wouldn’t say he’s day to day at this point, but we’re hopeful that it’s nothing long-term.”

Letang, who has missed four games and didn’t practice Saturday, has 34 points (five goals, 29 assists) in 41 games. He will not play Sunday against the Buffalo Sabres at PPG Paints Arena (5 p.m. ET; NHLN, ROOT, MSG-G, NHL.TV).

Defenseman Brian Dumoulin left in the third period of a 5-2 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday with an undisclosed injury but was able to practice.

Pittsburgh, which is without defensemen Trevor Daley (knee) and Olli Maatta (hand), traded for defensemen Ron Hainsey and Mark Streit prior to the NHL Trade Deadline on Wednesday.
