Kris Letang assisted on the Penguins only goal during regulation – Bryan Rust’s goal in the 2nd period. That was Kris’ 39th assist of the season. It was captain Sidney Crosby who scored the winning goal in the shootout. The Penguins are currently in 3rd place in the Metro, technically they’re tied with the Islanders. However, the Islanders have more wins than the Pens, which is why they’re in 2nd place.
