Kris Letang is up to 30 assists! Gets 2 in the Penguins OT win against the New Jersey Devils

The Penguins and Devils match ups always result in exciting and interesting games (especially a Penguins win)! Playing at The Prudential Center, the Penguins faced the Devils at their home arena, with both teams keeping the other scoreless in the first two periods. The Devils scored first in the 3rd but Chris Kunitz answered with a goal assisted by Kris and Sidney Crosby to tie the game.

Overtime would decide the winner of this fight, Simon Despres scored the winning assisted by Brandon Sutter and KRIS LETANG!

Kris was featured in Michelle Crechiolo’s 3 Impressions: I thought Simon Despres was the star of the game for Pittsburgh. He was outstanding. He had to step into a bigger role next to Kris Letang with Christian Ehrhoff out, and excelled. Not only did he score the OT winner, he was so strong defending and made one incredible play where he saved what would have been a sure goal when he stickchecked Elias, who had possession and an open net with Fleury out, and took the puck off his blade. It was an incredibly difficult play, but Despres made it. His D partner was tremendous as well, as Letang has now assisted on each of the Pens’ last seven goals. [ Source ]
